Orientation
Formal orientation programs are provided for new students entering Prep or Year 7 in the year preceding their enrolment. An individualised program applies for students entering at other year levels or during the school year.
Pre-Prep Orientation
Towards the end of each year, our new Prep students undertake a Pre-Prep Orientation program. This allows new students and their parents to familiarise themselves with Geelong Lutheran College. This orientation program takes place over three transition sessions that prove to be invaluable in ensuring that new students have a smooth start to their first year at school. The first session involves parents and students, while the last two sessions are for students to experience school by themselves.
Orientation for Year 7 students
Towards the end of each year, new Year 7 students undertake an Orientation program. This allows new students and their parents to familiarise themselves with Geelong Lutheran College. This orientation program usually takes place over a day and proves to be invaluable in ensuring that new students have a smooth start to their first year of secondary school.
Orientation for other students
Class teachers and coordinators arrange for buddies to be assigned to new students and for them to be oriented into the school.
