LIMITED VACANCIES 2011
Geelong Lutheran College at Mt Duneed is offering primary and secondary education for Prep to year 9 in 2011. As the senior students progress through the school the College will expand to provide education to year 12 by 2014.
Fifty-seven children began at the College on the first day of school in 2009 and in 2011 our enrolment has expanded to 154. An ultimate enrolment of 1050 students will be expected once the site has been developed to full capacity.
Its location in a future growth corridor will enable the College to cater for the expected population growth and provide an alternative education choice for families. The availability of secondary education on the surf coast is already limited and the provision of a Christian school will allow greater choice for parents in this area as well as Highton, Waurn Ponds, Grovedale and Belmont families.
The Lutheran Education system is the largest private education system outside of the Catholic Education system, providing for over 30,000 students across Australia. Lutheran education dates back to the 1830's with many of the first schools in Australia springing from the Lutheran population's strong desire to educate their children within a Christian context.
Mr Gary Jewson was appointed as Principal of the College in January 2008.
Mr Jewson, who has a long history with St John’s Lutheran School in Newtown, including nine years as Principal, is involved in strategic planning for both schools with Heads of Schools responsible for the day-to-day administration. This structure ensures the continuation of the quality Christian education that has been established at St John's.
